Hello, currently at the design phase of finishing our basement.

Due to structure of the house and the position of the rough in plumbing already in place, the bathroom location has already been determined. My spouse really wants a kitchenette as well. The problem is that kitchenette and the bathroom will be very close to each other.

Option 1: A split bathroom right off the kitchennette. The pro of this design is that I can fit in an extra wide two sink vanity. The con is that the door is right beside the kitchen/fridge.

Option 2: Add a small hallway. The pro of this design is that the bathroom door is no longer right beside the kitchenette, but the available room of the bathroom is drastically reduced.

Just wondering if Option 1 would simply be a bad idea due to how close it is to the kitchenette.
