We are buying what I hope will be my "forever" home. Its an old place with an interesting history. Its usually called "The XX House" for the family that built it or by another family's name. The house is located in a village of big old Victorian "summer houses" about 10 minutes south of a very charming, well preserved small city.

We usually name our vacation houses or give a nickname to the places we are living. With the vacation houses, a sign on the porch or mailbox helps guests to locate it. I kind of want to name this house. I know this is more common in the UK than the US, but wondered if anyone named their houses. This place has a stunning view of a tree farm with mountains in the distance. The front porch faces west, so I was thinking about something to reference the view.
