A Few New Seedlings

Here are some seedlings that had their maiden blooms in the last week.

Scarlet Angel X Barbara Mandrell - When this first opened it was splotchy and had a thick gold edge, but now that temps are cool it's showing clean blooms with a cream edge.

Another Ultimate Sacrifice kid - Coral red with orange eye and white edge.. Always a bitone.

Skin of My Teeth baby

Old Time Italian kid

(Lady Butterfly x Eyes A Blue) x Entwined in the Vine.

Carolina Cool Down X (Awesome Applique x Blazing Saddles) #1 has some tiny white teeth on the edge.

Here are two of my patterned eye seedlings that have shown more ornate patterns in the past two days. Both are from Aztec Headdress X Banded Broadbill

Cretaceous Crunch x Julie Newmar #2 has a few teeth on a 7 inch bloom

The last seedling pic is my favorite because of the edge, nice color too. So it’s no surprise I like the Skin of my Teeth baby too. The Old Time Italian baby Is on the list too, it keeps getting longer!

Those are some beautiful seedlings. The first and the third are my favorites. The patterned ones are nice too. I love the clean petal color on both. So many patterns have what I call muddy mauve color, but these two are exceptional!

Nice seedlings, Debra! I like the patterned ones, but for some reason my favorite is the 1st CArolina Cool down seedling

Nancy - I'm glad you like the lavender seedling out of Carolina Cool Down. I was going for a lavender with a purple eye. Neither seedling was what I expected from that cross, but I like them both.

Great seedlings. I love the red -especially the clean look! And the CCxJulie Newmar looks really good, especially with the large size!

I like the Skin of My Teeth one and the Barbara Mandrell one expecially, And I like that first Carolina Cool Down very well.

kay - I've grown to like that Skin of My Teeth baby. At fiirst I was very disappointed with that one because it wasn't a dark purple with a white edge. But with each bloom, I'm coming to appreciate it more and more. The Barbara Mandrell baby pleased me with the first bloom because it had such a heavy gold edge. But as you can see, that goes away when the heat does. Carolina Cool Down #1 has very clean lavender color, and I got a kick out for the very tiny teeth on the edge.

Kate - The CC x Julia Newmar cross has yielded the good, the bad, and the ugly. I was sure the first one that scaped last year was going to be fantastic. It had four-way branching and a ton of buds. Then it opened to the ugliest brown flower you've ever seen. The second one had a pretty good plant habit, but had a blah flower. This one was had the smallest and not a lot of buds, but the flower is quite pleasing. I like the clean petal color and the lavender eye. The teeth on the edge make it a good candidate to cross with my other semi-toothy seedlings.
