My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

A few shots while I recover

Since having my Hip replacement surgery about a week ago, as expected, I am not out gardening in any way to say the least. But I was able to take a “short walk” with my walker and iPad. This walk is from back yard to front and across the front of the house. I can’t bend to get great shots or anything other than top down pics for the most part. Can’t walk on the grass yet so the front bed hostas will be another day. Hope you enjoy.

    Those blue hostas look great! Especially against the sharp contrast of the Japanese forest grass.


    Wishing you a speedy recovery! I had hip tendon surgery about three years ago, that was bad enough -- can't imagine what the recovery from a replacement would be. But, I'm sure it will be worth it to be pain-free (eventually).

      1Recovery is a haul, but so worth it. I love my two "newish" knees. I wouldn't be gardening without them. The more you do your PT the faster you'll be back in action. I bet you'll be gardening in some way by August. Good luck!

      I understand that physical activity is part of the prescription for healing from these surgeries. What better way than taking a short, safe walk in or near your garden? Be safe and be well.

      Very nice! The DW had both knees replaced the past two years. She says the best thing she ever did, pain free and more active than ever before. Hope you find the same!

      Thanks NHBabs. Something weird happened about 2 weeks ago. All of a sudden, when I opened the gardenweb on my safari, all of a sudden houzz zoomed in and said I had to make an account to make posts. What, what? So then I started opening the gardenweb through chrome without problems, but I see this post was in houzz, go figure. I didn’t make a new houzz ID..........🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

      NHBabs— an update, when I manually signed in to forum discussions/ peren, then I am back to where I started, gardenweb.com. The key is to NOT go to discussions/hosta because that brought up houzz. Thanks for your help.

      CRIKEY KEN! I AM NOT WALKING ON GRASS OR OTHER UNSTABLE PATHWAYS!

      Give me some credit! If I even talked such nonsense, my husband would tie me to sumpin.......hahahahaha

      Lots of sympathy, but you're doing the right thing when it comes to walking. You'll heal much faster than if you sit and veg. Just be careful not to fall - and if you're taking pictures have someone to grab you if you lose your balance.
