Mostly seedlings today

We are finding that the most exciting things in the garden are the seedlings so we took many of those pictures today, but not many from the named ones. One named one we did get a picture of was the FFE of Una de Gato, and it did not disappoint. It is also quite large for a toothy.

Spacecoast Red Dazzler has lovely and rather unique color.

I think there was a three way tie for seedling Queen. The Tet. Rose F. Kennedy seedlings are starting to bloom and they are not disappointing. All three of these are big flowers. This one is Gryphon Chelsea London X Tet. Rose F. Kennedy.

This one is my personal favorite. It is Sportin' Life X Tet. Rose F. Kennedy.

Unfortunate Vatican City X Tet. Rose F. Kennedy is on a short scape. I hope that changes.

These next two are sibs. They are Merry Moppet X (Little Red Bantam X Pinewood Light in the Darkness). Thankfully, they did not inherit Merry Moppet's habit of not opening well. If I weren't getting pretty seedlings from her, she would be out of here. These are both big plants with tall well-branched scapes and flowers about 3.5 to 4 inches.

This is Theodora Kennedy X (Empire of Dawn and Dusk X Ruby Lipstick). I like the near white petals, but I wish it had a red edge to the petals.

It was a good day in the seedling fields.

Wow Sportin' Life X Tet. Rose F. Kennedy. is a real beauty. I like Una de Gato but have never heard of it before or the hybridizer Genho. I wish the data bases included hybridizer location info !!!!!!!!!!!! I also like Vatican City X Tet. Rose F. Kennedy . Hope like you that the scapes increase in height for you . The Merry Moppet seedlings are lovely too. I especially like the one with the white edge.

Signet, I agree with you about the databases needing hybridizer info. It would certainly help to have a first name and a location.

Paul Genho from Monte Vista Farms in Utah is the hybridizer. He does not have a website, but he is active on Facebook and has a page there.

The registered ones are nice but your seedlings outdistanced them! They are all striking! What fun you must be having in the seedling beds!

You are getting some really nice offspring from RFK! I love the looks of Sportin' Life X Tet. Rose F. Kennedy best of all! I know what you mean about not being able to photograph the registered ones when you're focused on getting good pics of your seedlings. My philosophy since last fall has been "Seedlings First." That means they get weeded first, fertilized first and photographed first. They also have first dibs on the prime sun spots and best soil. So a lot of my registered ones didn't get weeded. Many days they don't get noticed at all, let alone photographed.

I just noticed that I mentioned Theodora Kennedy X (Empire of Dawn and Dusk X Ruby Lipstick), but didn't include the picture. Here it is.

We wish it had a red edge on the petals, but otherwise, like the color.

Nancy, I m loving all of the red seedlings, like the last red with that great edge the best. I like the form on the Sportin Life seedling.
