Small shrub/large bush identification

I have a bush/shrub that I dug up and potted last summer when doing some tile work beside the house. I'm trying to identify it before planting so I know what sort of spacing it needs, etc, or if it's invasive and should be destroyed. It's a seedling from the parent plant. The parent plant has died but was about 3 1/2 feet tall and had green leaves with yellow around the edges. It was not evergreen but it did hold it leaves well into the freezing cold of winter. The leaf coloring (of the parent) was similar to Golden Euonymus but I don't think that's what it is. This child plant does not have the yellow in the leaves so I guess the parent was either a hybrid that didn't come true to seed or the plant has to reach a certain age to have the yellow in the leaves. I've been waiting all spring for the yellow to come in before posting but I've finally concluded that it's not going to. Any ideas on what this is?

reminds me of privet.. but thats just a guess ..

but you already sorta have your answer ... if it seeded from the other plant ... if you get my drift ...

Privet. A Ligustrum species.

Well I might need to do a little more digging to figure out exactly what Privet this is but from a little research it looks like there are a bunch of Privets on our invasive species list. Its looking like these are just going to be to dispose of.

Well, when I got back from vacation last week I discovered that the original plant had put back out again. In comparing them side by side I'm pretty sure that the original plant was something different. I took a couple pictures of it.

Also a Privet. Looks like Ligustrum ovalifolium 'Aureum’.

Yep I think your right the pics I'm finding definitely look like the original plant. Looks like it's also commonly called "Golden Privet" and unfortunately is also on the invasive list for my area. It was also planted in an inappropriate spot for it's mature size. It's right beside the edge of the porch. I don't think that's a good place for an 8ft shrub. I'll probably just cut it to the ground and smoother it out this year and replace it with one of the large peonies like Big Ben or Bowl of Beauty.
