platform bed seeking input

hi! We just purchased these beds https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rest-Rite-Vivian-Faux-Leather-Grey-Twin-Upholstered-Platform-Bed-Frame-NPGR936TW/309047925 will attach photo as well. I read multiple reviews from diff sites, loads of people love them. Bottom line they are all saying is to either have a box spring, or bunkie board or replace slats. My question is if i were to do the plywood bunkie board option or do a replace slat system so its stong and take a 12 inch mattress would that be an issue for function or appearances as the space is 16" from frame to bottom of headboard will i have a large gap?

. I dont want to see 2 "mattressess 1-box spring 1- mattress) when i walk into the room i want a clean streamlined view. Pls advise!! thanks

Get low profile box springs. Atop METAL slats . Unless you fill the gap, placing a mattress on bunkie board will leave four inches of gap. Can your pillow disguise that? Yes.......but your sleep pillows can sneak out beneath as well. : )

If you are concerned about the slats use a piece of plywood cut to size and you will need a thicker mattress or a box spring since the gap is too high for a 12" mattress mattress on top. Is there not a way to lower the headboard .

From reviews written I understand the headboard can’t be adjusted.
I’m having it shipped to the new house and handyman will install it there. Truth is I. Can ask him and then finalize choice
