why is everything raised off the floor?

Remodeling our garage and saw this storage solution. Trying to determine most sufficient way to maximize space and storage.

This is great question Michelle (@Mich D). We at Banner Garage encourage getting as many items as possible up off of the floor in the garage for several reasons. The biggest reason is it is much easier to keep the garage floor clean. When everything is on the wall and up off the floor, it's a cinch to blow, sweep, or wash out your garage. A clean garage floor means a cleaner house!

I agree its easier to clean, plus reduces impulse to just put stuff in the garage when you have no other idea of what to do with it.
