Stenciled Infusion on rebloom is lovely

We have some trees that need to be taken down too. We lost several to storms in the last couple of years, but they weren't close to the house. Two are close to the house and both have some rot on them and they need to go.

I fear the dreaded words 'last bloom on . . . Our season is just getting started, but I don't want to think about it ending.

Your Explosion in the Paint Factory is neat. We have never had one with that much yellow. Jellyroll Morton always catches my eye--such beautiful color. I also like Stenciled Infusion.

Nancy thank you for your nice thoughtful post. I was very pleased to have them remove several large branches that not only shaded a part of my garden but provided generous quantities of acorns that all seemed to want to be big trees like daddy. this should give longer sun hours to the back beds. And they didn't seem to have dropped a twig in the beds. good work.

I admit I was tickled to see EITPF looking as if paint had sprayed on it since that is what I wanted to see. My season is currently just 11 days short of three months since bloom began, so I am not too sad for last blooms now, even favorites last blooms. I am still having some clumps and, of course, re-blooms popping up I am puzzled by the re-bloom scapes being so much taller consistently this year than the original scapes were.

It's good you had that tree taken down. We had too many close calls with trees near the house. I only have one small tree now. Crazy Cat Lady is beautiful, and one I need to add because of the name. Orchid Majesty and Stenciled Infusion are my favorites again.

Thank you, Debra. As luck would have it, we had a pretty strong little storm after the men left and sat congratulating ourselves that we wouldn't have to worry about the tree. A lady in Birmingham died this week when a tree fell on her house, so it is a real danger. We have a number of trees at the end of the yard, but no danger to us and the other big tree could not reach the house so we are good now.

I do like Crazy Cat Lady; pretty much Laura Harwood colors but a bit darker and the name. Stenciled infusion will move this fall to the best area and we will see if she like it better. And I am so glad I moved Orchid Majesty since it has done so well in the new area. Thank you for your kind comments.

That was a large --huge--tree! No wonder you wanted it down. It looks like it may have had some rot settled in also? If so, you were so right in taking it down. I like the color on Crazy Cat Lady and yes, the name fits!! Orchid Majesty is so pretty. My Explosion, (thanks to you) had its first bloom yesterday. I have not had time to post at all but will put that one on there when I do. Jellyroll Morton is so pretty. I am having some of those "last" blooms as well but I see rebloom scapes popping up on many.

That's one big tree. We had our 34 year old Arborvitae taken out this year. It was well over 30 feet tall and eating the side of the house. Sure looks bare without it. Did you keep the firewood?..............I think your Jelly Roll Morton is always a stand out, and I like the color of Orchid Majesty....................Maryl

Thank you, Kate and Maryl. Kate we had no suspiian of rot, but the is the evidence of a small hollow center section. and they had hauled away load after load of it before the photos. It had over twenty five huge branches anad it reached over about half or more of the house. We had had work done one it a few years ago, but it just kept growing it was a very old tree, And no Maryl, although there is plenty of firewood, we don't use it.

I was wondering about your EIPF Kate. Today mine had a rain soaked mostly yellow. Orchid Majesty has done really well this year, and yes, Maryl, I did hate to see that last bloom and the EITV one, but it has been a long season and like Kate, there are reblooms coming along. I’m glad the tree Was removed before tragedy happened. No more worries! I agree with Nancy, it’s hard to hear your season is coming to an end, just starting here. I’m hoping you have lots of rebloom.

Thank you, Sherry. I have big plans as always for some garden reorganization, mainly moving a few and planting some new ones. I have a few to divide since their blooming has lessened and there are indeed re-blooms including one or two instants. I look forward to seeing everyones photos as I always find something I have to have.

That is a gigantic tree! I can't imagine the cost and time to remove it!

Nice daylilies overall, but I really love several--Orchid Majesty especially, Caberet Cabarnet, and Jellyroll Morton.

While Explosion In the Paint Factory is often quite interesting, it would drive me crazy to have it. I'd always be feeling like it was being imperfect and splotchy.The one in this post would especially do that. Everytime I'd look at it, the "missing" pink on the bottom petal would drive me crazy.

We had several large branches from the other big tree that over-humg my daylily beds in the back Taken off too, and a fairly small Hackberry tree taken down as well (It was no more than a foot in diameter) Overall, It was pretty expensive,and there is still a very large amount of trunks to be removed. but theworkers were all understandably tired and left with some of the huge trunks left still to be split and taken away. Then a storm came and a large amount of rain fell so they aren't here now, but they haven't been paid yet so they will be back.

Orchid Majesty has been a real favorite. It used to have just a few blooms each year, but after moving it, it has really been a good one and is lovely when it blooms. JM is a real favorite. Mantis used to say the photos were prettier than the blooms but I find the blooms to be just as lovely as photos, and CC is a new one that I really like. It was a lucky bonus last year.

That is so funny, Brad. We al have somewhat different likes, don't we? Nancy was commenting on how much she liked the half and half bloom yesterday, and I do to which is why I bought it. But we also have common likes, so it all works out. Thank you for looking and commenting.

That's a big tree! And right in the middle of the daylily season. They did a great job. When we had one of the trees taken down lots of my scapes got broken. I'd like to have at least one more gone (too small a yard for so many big trees) but not sure when or if we can do it.

Very pretty daylilies! I like that look on the Explosion at the Paint factory. And my favorites today are Jellyroll Morton, ahh the last :(( and Crazy Cat Lady (nice name :))

Oh no, I see some last blooms! Not already! I hate to see that start happening. Love Jellyroll Morton and Crazy Cat Lady. Explosion in the Paint Factory is one I do like, but some of those mottled daylilies bother me. I look at those and think about those dewy morning, I have several that tend to look like that. No need to spend more money on those. I don't even like all the streaky ones, but some seem to look more like they were "meant".

Your season has been great Kay. Wow, that is some tree.
