If they are volunteers - either seedlings or suckers - they may not be something worth keeping. Unless you have a lot of land you need to plant.

remind us where you are ...

and how about we ID the cherry ... or tell us ... big difference between prunus serotina and a foo foo seed grown ornamental flowering cherry ...

but there is the usual caveat ... if you already have hundreds of seedlings ... do you really want to encourage more.. by allowing them to mature ???

pic below.. when i moved a serotina .... pic is dated.. note root ball .. arpil is about a month before leaves appear.. and 3 months before the heat of summer.. plenty of time to get the roots working... in my MI

I am in Northern Virginia. Have two weeping cherry trees in the back yard. One looks like it was grafted.

I plan on moving the larger one and may eventually move the smaller ones.

Dig after the leaves drop in fall.
