Paint the door. Change the lighting to a small chandelier. Change the rug to something that matches the door.

I’d paint the entrance area and staircase white to brighten and visually enlarge. If there isn’t a runner on the stairs, you could add decals to the risers so the eye is drawn up and away. A mirror should definitely be added to wall on right and an airy glass pendant would be great. Keep it fresh and uncluttered and ensure accessories connect with each other for a unified, impactful entrance to your home
