We have had it. It's a sport of Pat Henry, so very much like it; but without the bright pink tones. There is one photo on HMF. Stan the man was Pat's (late) husband.

Thank you Malcolm. I wrote, actually the man znd the myth, because my title had to be so long. But I actually wrote Pat and asked her about it too, and that is what she told me. I told her it must have been a great rose to be named after such a great man.

My only other question, is, is it a strong grower?

She did send me a picture of a bloom, just the bloom. So I was wondering about growth and strength. Thanks so much! And hardiness. I need to know if it can take cold and heat and humidity, since I have all three, the cold is more those swinging spring temperatures, but ya know.

I can't answer about cold, since I'm in Florida. We lost our Stan Henry plant quite a while ago, but we still grow Pat Henry (which I presume is quite similar, since SH was a sport). PH is a "typical," rather upright Hybrid Tea, flowering in frequent, big flushes all season. Our garden is sprayed, so I don't know about overall disease resistance, but for us, it tends to be a healthy, very nice plant.
