you can take it off. Stan should have removed it before shipping the tree to you.

I grew my own trees

I just ordered 3 trees from stan had the film on as well. just gently peel it off. He says he uses a trifoliate hybrid rootstock which is vague. But then again he isn't the one grafting a tree on any given Sunday....his help is. What was available that Sunday.....One still had trifoliate leaves attached on it.

I would remove it. You don't want pests or molds to develop under the film. The graft has no more use for the film, since the union looks strong.

Whatever is wrapped around the graft union, I would remove it carefully. It may girdle the tree otherwise. The graft union looks robust. That almost looks like a veneer graft, but hard to tell.

if he used Buddy tape, that is tedious to remove and takes up valuable time, so I can see why he did not remove it.

Can't tell what's going on with the underside of the leaves. Perhaps spider mites.

You may leave the Parafilm on because it will not girdle the tree because it will expand as the tree grows. That is if it does not come off on its own, which is what usually happens.
