Catching up on Monday

Sunday was a very busy day--morning in the sound booth at church and then afternoon with our daughter and son-in-law visiting so we didn't do much in the garden. We did get a few pictures and then some more this morning. After Saturday's all day rain, the flowers have been beautiful. But today is so hot--high 80's with the heat index around 100-- that you just can't work outside much. I spent the morning pollinating. Hopefully, some pods will set today. When it begins to get this hot, you might as well cease pollinations because not much will set.

Here are a few from Sunday and today.

Absolute Ripper was great today.

Call off the Search has been pretty this year. It's a good grower too.

Coral Crab is new this year. I really like it.

Critical Mass has just started blooming.

I know I posted Eggplant Luminosity the other day, but today it was outstanding.

Maynard Max, hybridized by friend of ours, is a great grower. It is looking really good this year.

Moving Forward is a southern bred daylilies that does well for us.

I was afraid One Hot Mama might not do well for us, but so far, so good.

Snarl has taken awhile to get going but is doing pretty well now.

Sweet Isabella's blooms have been huge this year.

The Bride of Dracula is a favorite orange. It also looks like it will be a good parent for us.

The Queen of the seedlings today is Dragon Fang X Horns.

We also like the looks of this seedling--Chomp X Mitch Lynd.

My favorites are Eggplant Luminosity and Sweet Isabela. Both seedling have great toothy edges!

Absolute Ripper is absolutely beautiful. Wow Eggplant Luminosity is so striking. Love Maynard Max too. And my favorite is your seedling Queen, great one!

Hot here too today, dangerously hot as they say..

Your Queen is outstanding today! I love the color on Moving Forward. One Hot Mama is lovely, hope it continues to do well for you. I just came inside from the gardens, heat index is 104 today, yuck........

My goodness, Nancy, don't you have a lot f hot beauties today?! Absolute Ripper and Call off the Search look great. I love Eggplant Luminosity; It would never be that pretty color here. Your friend's "baby" is right down my alley, and Moving Forward is another one with lovely colors. Snarl is a bright one and I like the name. Both of the seedlings look like winners. A very nice post, Nancy. fun to look at them.

You did have a really excellent day, some wonderful flowers. I love Eggplant Lumonosity, Absolute Ripper, and One Hot Mama. Your seedlings are really great today too.

Eggplant Luminosity looks fantastic with the two tone color.One Hot Mama looks very good. I see that it is a EV. Glad it shows well in your zone.
