I'd go with a white tile backsplash that matches the cabinets. White on white is always classic and beautiful!

Maybe that picture doesn’t show the beige too much. It sometimes looks a bit brownish and the floor is gray. I feel like if I put the backsplash white that it will only enhance the fact that the countertop is not white. Or maybe it’s just me and my husband that see it too warm colored. He wanted to put a white backsplash too so maybe that will work. Thanks for the suggestion.

Is just saw some hex and herringbone pattern tiles at Lowe’s that were white, cream, grey and a bit of taupe. They would look lovely and tie it all in!

Remove the 4" backsplash that is there now, have the new backsplash go down to the countertop. Can you switch out the flooring before it's installed to maybe something more brown? Or are you trying to tie in the rest of the flooring in your home? Hello - Yes the whole house has the same flooring. Unfortunately we can’t switch it. We might be able to remove the backsplash installed. Thanks for the suggestion. I’m really appreciative of the suggestions as I go back and forth between more white, more beige, or more gray. The one you suggest is nice.

I have it in my kitchen it's a great backsplash. I really think removing that lip of backsplash will be a huge improvement.

Don't do a white backsplash as your gut is right that it will only emphasize the warm counter top. And whites are hard to match so you could end up with a bigger issue. Look for something like kelbelle 68 suggest and even some with your blues that you are thinking. Get some samples, post them here and we can help you further if you like. And the 4" lip should be removable. I understand it can be rather easy to do. It may damage the wall a bit but that can be fixed. Just make sure whoever removes it knows what they are doing so your counter tops aren't damaged. You may just want to google search it so you have an understanding of what it takes to remove it.

Honestly, I would get new countertops. I know that is a big expense … but you probably will always think the countertop doesn’t go with the cabinets. I also agree about removing the 4” backsplash. Run the tile new backsplash all the way to the cabinets. Sorry this happened … sometimes your vision doesn’t always work.

Stumpydarby - Definitely have thought about it. Although it will be a while before we can do it. Even if I find a backsplash that works for the meantime we might end up replacing the countertops altogether which makes me upset because the counter is great, but it’s just not bright white. I saw the sample and it looked white but I don’t know what happened. It even has some metallic pieces embedded that I figured would reflect gray but it doesn’t. It’s weird.

Take a look at some articles on mixing whites with cream, then take a look at the Cloe tile in white. They use five different glazes to mimic the variation of hand glazed tile.

@eam44 the one I posted is almost identical to cloe. I had samples of both, I went with the less expensive option, it's such a nice tile!

Also, Ana post a picture today in the daytime! It could be your lighting color too making the countertop seem more yellow.

Also, are your kitchen lights (ceiling, under cab, etc.) all 4000K LED? That will give you a better idea of what the colours truly are - closest to natural daylight.

So last night I went over and it actually looks better in the night. Less beige. It seems like the daylight/natural light makes it look beige. The kitchen lights are daylight ceiling lights. Currently we do not have under cabinet lighting.

What brand are the counters?

I’m not sure of the brand name. I got the samples from the installer.

Are they laminate or solid surface?

In lieu of different or more backsplash, may I suggest painting the wall above your countertop/backsplash your favorite bold color. Much more easily changed than a tile "color mistake".

Personally, I like the limited short backsplash against the wall.

Ana- Looking more at your photos, the last photo with the counter top being on the bottom of the photo it appears that the counter looks whiter than what the perimeter one does in the photo. I'm also thinking that if the 4" lip is removed that may de-emphasize the contrast. What you may want to do is take some copy paper and cover that lip up and see what happens. The photo below is a visual to show you how the counter top kind of just disappears without a 4" lip when you have a contrasting back splash. Also, note the valance and how it brings the eye up and carries the color of the back splash further.

@itsourcasa - im so glad I ran into your comment. I really wanted the white cloe tile but its out of stock on the site where I planned to buy and ordering straight from Bedrosians will take forever. I saw the one you recommended at Floor and Decor but I cant find any reviews or real pictures. Might you have a picture of your back splash? Did you like it as much as the cloe tile?

I think a backsplash with the colors SierraDawn posted is perfect to tie it all in.

I would not do the cloe tile it would clash with your countertop I think. Do something with some warmer colors.
