We are dreadfully dry and no rain is sight for more than another week . So distressing , however , the daylilies are starting to bloom , stunted but blooming . Makes me think I should just give up on gardening . For example Far Galaxies is blooming . It is supposed to be 38 inches tall , plant itself is probably a foot and a half tall . If the scape is more than 5 inches tall on this bloom up front I will eat my shirt but the stupid plant is blooming .

Here are a few that are not as badly stressed but still far shorter than normal.

Not an especially exciting seedling .......will probably toss this year .
