knotty pine ceiling

last modified: 6 years ago

Hi all,

I know there are other threads for the knotty pine situation, but I see differing info in each. I have this vaulted pine ceiling- the wood is beautiful but trying to bring this place out of the 90s (and I live in the middle of Los Angeles- if it were in the mountains I'd leave it as is). I know painting is an option with the specific primers like BIN, but if we want to keep some of the wood character and knots, just change the color tone to be less orange/amber are there ANY other options aside from completely sanding the entire ceiling? I know pine doesn't take stain well, but any lymeing/ pigmented products that could be applied? would appreciate any thoughts. thanks!
