We have an established Blush Noisette that we grow as a large free-standing shrub, about 6 ft. tall and 8 ft. wide. I had to thin it out this week so I could get behind it to locate a hole where a raccoon enters our yard (no hole found!). I hadn't pruned her for a few years and needed to remove more than 1/3 of the bush. Then I gave it a long deep watering.

Antique Rose Emporium describes how to prune antique roses, and I had to cut more than it advises. I'm concerned this may have harmed it.

What should I do now to encourage it to recover healthy and strong? It grows in a corner surrounded on 2 sides by a wood fence. It gets sun all morning, then bright or dappled shade after noon.
