Beautiful art (and rug)! It’s hard to say without seeing the space, your style of decorating, and what kind of console, but my opinion is that it could work fine. Some people are very rigid about decor rules/measurements, but I’m more into a creative look in most cases. Especially when it’s something like this — a piece of art, etc, that has meaning (in this case, your mom’s wonderful gift to you).

Better to find console table that almost same size as your art (after frame). Otherwise it won’t look balance eventhough you put additional 2 chairs left and right.

If you can't find the size you want, how about two matching tables or chests? Or a long, low, backless bench?

thanks for the ideas. there are some decent selections around 72" range, but very few longer than that. I'll update the result after I put it on.
