finding dead critters indicates the poison used is still present.....and that's why no "poison control" ever comes into my house. I would rather a few live bugs than poison.

Silverfish eat cellulose. I don't know what source there may be...but wall paper paste is sometimes a food source, as is paper and things made of rayon. Try putting bayleaves around on your counters for a couple of weeks....near the corners where you are finding the dead bugs. it won't kill them but is supposed to be a repellant.

Boric acid kills all kinds of insects and is not toxic to pets or people without investing large quantities.

Can you tell me more about the boric acid? How do you place it and how much do you use? We have quarterly treatments done and still see the silverfish - alive - on all levels of the house! Thoughts?

Check your foods, as well. The best silverfish farm I've ever seen was a bag of dog food.

How old is this condo? What part of the world is it in? Do you have older books, magazines, LPs, or boxes? Taxidermy?

It's definitely better to find the source of the critters than to coat your home with insecticide (and yup, like Linda says, it's still working, which means it's still there....).

@Fori : well, the weird part is that everything is either packaged or in jars... I made sure when I moved not to have a single book or magazine in the house and we are in a 4 years condo building in Toronto- Ontario, Canada

@lindac92: no wall paper and I am ok finding one or two every other day around the house and then catch them (which still happens in the living room, master bathroom or master bedroom) but my serious issue is with the kitchen countertops and the fact I only see the baby or medium sized one. :(

Four years old means it's probably not antique wallpaper degrading....

Never had luck with borax and silverfish....borax only works if you mix it with something "they" are eating...like sugar or honey or flour....so they eat it while eating what they eat.
I had 2 layers of wallpaper in my bathroom.....and paint ontop of the wall paper, and silver fish found in the tub and sink and even in the framed prints on the wall!!!!!

I bit the bullet, and ripped that stuff off...eww!! repapered after scrubbing and the had the bath stripped to the studs....new tub, shower, tile, floor tc. Still find an occasional silverfish in the tub.
I have stopped letting it bother me.

Boric acid works pretty well for cockroaches when it's placed in their runs because they are so fastidious. They clean themselves like cats.

(If cockroaches weren't cockroaches, they'd be everyone's favorite insect due to their charming behaviors.)
