Things are really getting going in SE Michigan

More and more FFOs each day. I haven't posted anything yet this season, but I'll share some pictures from today. As I've mentioned in comments elsewhere, we've been very hot and very dry. That continues this week. The heat and lack of rain, as well as the late winter and late freezes have definitely impacted bud count and branching here on most plants.

I just love this recent acquisition. Stella's Cream 'n Green - is really more peach and green (it's peachier than the pics show). Got it last May and saw a few blooms. This year it is very impressive. If you appreciate Stella's Ruffled Fingers, I think you'll like it - same hybridizer and it's a rebloomer too.

Here's a few pictures of Ron's Curls from last year - I just noticed I never posted them on NGA, I will do that soon. I bought it when I saw it last year in Findlay, Ohio, so I have had it just less than a year... these pictures from last year are when I had it in a pot on my deck.

This cream STella is a new acquisition, and you already have a clump like that? You truly do have a green thumb and some super rich soil. I love the clump of Remembered Kisses, and it's my favorite of these. From DarKness Comes Light is an impressive clump too. Ron's Curls looks like my kind of daylily. I'll have to research it.

Thanks, Debra - I don't remember how many fans I got of SCNG, but it was a bunch (6-8 maybe?) and I split some of them up, planted a few inches apart. I don't have rich soil... most of it is 2-4 inches of topsoil on clay, but I do some fertilizing and do mulch some :)

Stella's Cream and Green looks really good. A great plant if it blooms like Stella's Ruffled Fingers. SRF often blooms almost continuously all summer. I know what you mean about EMO becoming more important. I have a few that don't really open up til it gets hot. By this time of the year, I don't go outside in the heat of the day, so I miss it at its best. EArly Shirley is impressive clump! Mine is not there yet, but it has a rebloom scape this year. I always love the look of Patricia Snider Memorial

Laura, you and I have had the same weather and like you, I’m having mixed results in the garden. Short scapes on some that never had short ones before, lower bud count on quite a few. I’m also a fan of Cream and Green, another good performer. Wall of Fire looks lovely this week!

Forget all the pics of Ron's Curls from last year-just look at that garden background!!! Absolutely fabulous! I love Remembered Kisses-got mine from you, I think and it has fast become a favorite. Quite a clump of Early Shirley also. I really like the color on Wall of Fire also. Good to see you start your posts!

Stella's Cream and Green is nice. It does look like Stella's Ruffled Fingers in another shade. We grow works for me and love its huge eye. Remembered Kisses (a favorite here) and Wall of Fire are my other picks. I keep thinking I will get Wall of Fire, but we are trying to downsize and it doesn't fit any of our hybridizing goals. It is beautiful though.

Ooh Stella's Cream 'n Green sounds nice. What a pretty pretty clump. Also early? My other favorite is the clump of Remembered Kisses. Patricia Snider Memorial and Celestial Army look great too. Love the pics of Ron's Curls with other perennials in the background, beautiful!
