Stroke Of Brilliance and Lisa Apps Sybrandt are both gorgeous! I especially like LAS. I can see why you like them and their performance for you sounds like they are tough.

Lisa Apps Sybrandt: is my favorite of these yellows you're yelling about today. It has smooth color, nice round and ruffled form, and it looks great with its red companions. Miss Goldie does not like storms. I've had high winds take out scapes before.

My favorite is Crocodile Tears, maybe give it a new spot, it’s so pretty! It’s windy here almost always. Yesterday the wind messed up four blooms on my Boy Crazy, grrrr.....I also like Sybrandt, a lovely classic daylily.

Sherry: the wind is a constant here but I know others can be a victim of it too. I can't think of anywhere else to put a daylily that fades so badly as does Crocodile Tears. The few somewhat shaded places I have are for something more special then another yellow........Debra: Those "red companions" are Acquire the Fire. You need to get it again if you can find it. Lisa Apps Sybrandt is just about my favorite shade of yellow..........Lara: you are right about Lisa being tough. You have to be tough to make the cut in a small garden......... I like Lisa Apps Sybrandt also. Wow! I didn't realize you had so much wind...but then we have it when it storms and it seems to do a lot of that lately. I also like sStroke of Brilliance.

MaryL I can relate to the winds. It seems that they are almost constant here . This wasn't the case even 5 years ago but the winds and the heat have increased incrementally here every year . Climate change anyone ?

Today , the supposed blessing was we didn't have horrendous winds. Instead we just had stinky hot and humid temps in the low 100's ( thanks to the humidity) Oddly it is almost an oxymoron. The humidity supposedly raises the temps but the heat so hot that the air is parching. My plants are screaming for water . Cracks in the soil are about 1/2 inch wide right now , in some places even wider . I have a sneaky feeling that in the not to distant future this area will be more desert like . Daylilies that are registered at 36 inches and taller are blooming at about 24 inches tall .

All yellows here are beautiful. I like the combo of red and yellow. The 2nd doesn't look too bad for 4pm! At least yellows don't melt as bad as purples and reds and.. all others lol And my favorite is Stroke of Brilliance.

Lisa Apps Sybrandt looks good to me. I love purples, but you can tell when I have been in the garden, I come in looking like I have been in a massacre. The purple color is all over me. At least you don't get that with the yellows!

Kate: Lisa Apps Sybrandt is remarkably colorfast in our high heat too. I've never seen it bleach out regardless of the temperature......Kay: Surprisingly Oklahoma has the 2nd windiest city in the United States (Oklahoma City). It can get to be a tad annoying especially when you are trying to photograph flowers waving in the breeze.......Heather: Our climate hasn't changed much. It's cold in the winter and hot in the summer with a couple of seasons in between that do their own thing. I feel sorry for anyone who has a heat index over 100. Just plain miserable........David: You have good taste in colors if I may be so bold-lol............You are right Nat about the quest for colorfast/sunfast reds and purples. Hard to find a good one in my climate. Stroke of Brilliance is a good daylily. Could be a bit more vigorous, but I keep it in a 1 gallon pot and it would probably benefit from a larger one. It's all a matter of space..........Nancy: I know what you mean about staining. Deadheading Rose Masterpiece left my hands looking like a bloody mess.
