Wednesday's morning blooms

We did get some rain today. It fell for about 15minutes. That is better than nothing.

I'll start of with some seedlings.

Victorian Lace x Boundless Beauty. Moved it last fall to an evaluation bed. Big flat and round. Its sister should start to bloom soon.

Seedling that I don't remember the cross. This one is perfect every morning.

I showed its sibling yesterday and here it is again.

Seedling that my garden judge friend wants me to register. It is Red Volunteer x Enchanting Esmerelda. The color is hard to capture. It does not melt in the sun.

Mama's Cherry Pie: The lighter edges show up when it is warmer.

TIME FOR ETERNITY: One of the few Petit's that remain in my garden. It reaches its registered height and is above the foliage.

I still like the 3rd pink/ cherry eyed daylily, but the color of the Red Volunteer seedling is one to watch........I like all the pinks of course, but Blue in The Night is one that stands out to me too.............Maryl

Here are some Bennett intros

ONCE OVER LIGHTLY: FFO this year. When it has several blooms open, it is a grand sight.

BLUES IN THE NIGHT: This is a better photo than the one the other day.

BO KNOWS: This is a vigorous grower.

Nice seedlings, I really like the Victorian Lace one, look forward to seeing its sibling. Bo Knows is nice, I like the triangular eye on it. Blues in the Night caught my eye too.

Lots of good stuff! Seedlings 2 & 4 are quite pretty. Bela Lugosi and Blues in the night are my favorite named ones.

You captured very well the color of Bela Lugosi. I almost routinely ignore Petits, which may be unfortunate; but let someone else determine if they are hardy and vigorous. I've been burned too often. It is interesting that everyone used to laud Maryotts, but now northerners have learned how they often do not thrive in cold climates. Bill contributed a lot to the daylily culture, but his breeding lines were were not adapted to colder climates. So many people got so excited about getting his intros as bonuses. How many are still in the garden?

Very nice seedlings! My favorite is the second purple one. Bo Knows and Blues in the Night are my favorite from the named ones.

My Mama's Cherry Pie has barely any dark pink left it's been so hot. Ha, I do have one Petit's daylily (as far as I remember) and it does bloom in the foliage :)

Mantis, re Maryott's - only one is doing good here, Incendiary. But I still keep a few. Many died.
