Purple Tarantula Is my favorite today, I like the form and color. I’m glad I never added RFK after seeing your comment, that’s really sad. Dragon Nation looks intriguing, not my favorite color but such a nice pattern/ eye.

Purple Tarantula looks very nice and so Dragon Nation. I would love to get a good picture of Ashwood Rings of Saturn, but the lighting is difficult in the a.m.

Oh! Purple Tarantula, how beautiful. It's my favorite today. I also like Dennis Russell and Picture in Picture a lot, but they are all very pretty. RFK is still on my wish list, and no increase sounds like a great flower for me :))

I like Purple Tarantula too, but every one is appealing to me. I was given Rose FK last year, it is bringing stubborn and refusing to bloom, despite looking very healthy. I have heard it is slow to increase, very slow I guess. I have Picture in Picture, 2nd bloom year for it and it has been VERY short, beautiful blooms though. Cold spring both years, maybe it did not like that. Lovely post.

Picture in Picture will probably improve with time, but it is a Stamile that will always have limited bud count and limited increase--like Stenciled Infusion. I had one tall scape and a couple shorts. Very beautiful flower though.

Mantis, I really cannot understand why RFK doesn't increse for you since mine has gone from a single to a dozen fans and it isn't a southern plant. Your purple tarantula is gorgeous, and Master Bullfrog, Wall of fire and especially Heman! /Wnat a nice clump shot, and you cannot tell the sun was making photo taking difficult. by your photos.

Somehow I missed this.......... I really enjoyed seeing the twosome of Purple Tarantula. I like the color and pattern in particular.......I like the pink of Dankie too and I've seen PIP a couple of times now and it too looks interesting. Glad I didn't let these pictures pass me by.......Maryl

I am not alone in having difficulty with RFK. One Canadian grower (who is well known in daylily circles) said she finally gave her plant away in frustration. On this Facebook post, many others voiced their problems. On the other hand, some reported increase. It is almost as if there are two strains of RFK out there. RFK definitely doesn't like to be disturbed. Julie Covington noted her frustration after dividing RFK; the plant sulked and refused to increase. It is generally acknowledged to be a slow grower. I am wary of new cultivars with RFK as a parent.

Dankie has modest bud count, but is very beautiful.

Rose F Kennedy is not a garden flower. It sits and sulks for me. I don't need daylilies like that Out it goes. One of my favorites is Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. It grows well under average conditions, multiplies well without taking over the gardes, and every pretty pink flower opens well.

Dick, if RFK is problematic, what about all its progeny? Why the obsession with it in hybridizing? Lots of kids who have the same slow growth habit.

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis is nice, but scapes, like those of many Smith cultivars, tend to be shorter. This year, barely above foliage.
