I’m having a hard time choosing favorites today but Wall of Fire and Allegheny Skyline are on the list. Carmen Renee looks wonderful in your garden too! I like the group shots and, of course, your purple seedling. How many purple toothy seedlings do you have blooming?

Sherry asked, "How many purple toothy seedlings do you have blooming?" - a hard question to answer. Do you mean as of today, or this season? As of today, only one, and it's a combo of teeth and baubles on the edge. I have one out of toothy breeding that mostly has a smooth white edge still blooming. The others ended late last week or eariler this week. The seedling above is the same SC Night Vis. X Razor Sharp seedling I've shown before. It's sibling bloomed and was a triangular lavender with a baubled gold edge and was nearly always splotchy.

Skin of My Teeth x Midnight Castle - It has 15 buds, which is good for a first-year bloomer.

This one is Buddy's Victoria Jade x Skin of My Teeth - It had three scapes with 11-16 buds. I think this is the last day for it to bloom. It does have some tiny teeth on the edge, but I wouldn't advertise it as toothy.

So many lovely UF's still blooming for you. When I was looking at late bloomers last winter it seemed so many of them were UF's for some reason..........You know I liked your MIss Goldie Gold Digger UF enough to trial it last year and this. Still not overly fond of the shape of just one UF bloom, but as with your picture, when there's multiple blooms the whole impression changes......Your purple seedlings look very good. Do you think they will be classified as late bloomers?.................Maryl

Maryl - None of the purple seedlings is a late bloomer. The one in my initial post would be classified an early bloomer. It started blooming June 6th. The last bloom on it was a later bud that didn't bloom until about a week later than the previous one. The first purple in the above post started blooming midseason. We'll have to see in future years if it is an ML bloomer. The second one started during the EM time.

Bluegrass Shadows is very beautiful. Yay for Wall of Fire reblooming, great pic of it. I also love Willow Dean Smith. My fave group is the one with Miss Goldie.

Gorgeous purple seedlings, my favorite is the one in the main post, such a nice edge. What you gonna do with that lavender sibling, give another year?

The intense purple colors on your seedlings are terrific. The grouping of blooms showcases the color contrasts. Stunning multi bloom pic of Allegheny Skyline. I expect mine to start in another week or so. It put up 4 scapes this year.

Nat - I've been very pleased with Bluegrass Shadows in its first year. The edge is so much more fancy on rebloom. I will be giving the lavender seedling sibiling at least another year. Seedlings that disappoint when they first bloom often turn out to please me quite a bit the next year when I don't have specific expectations of them. I did cross the lavender seedling with a couple of my other lavender seedlings, so it may end up producing something fantastic down the line. It really likes to set pods. A good bridge plant is almost as valuable as one I would register.

Julia - Allegheny Skyline has done really well here this year. It's taller than ever before (32-37 inches), but still not quite at registration height. I hope yours will put on a good show with its four fans.

Allegheny Skyline is so pretty in that clump! Bluegrass Shadows and Wall of Fire look great. And of course, the purple seedling shines!

Allegheny Skyline. is probably my favorite, but Miss Godie Golddigger is very bright and Wall of Fire is always a favorite. Love the Spacecoast Night Vision seedling and Carmen Renee is a lovely clump too. There isn't a clinker in the bunch.

Allegheny Skyline is probably my favorite too, I always like your Bluegrass Shadows. Love the group with White Eyes Pink Dragon, that is a lovely clump of WEPD. Your seedlings look great!

Thanks for all your comments! I didn't think that such a great photo of Allegheny Skyline, but thanks for all the likes on it. It is one of my top favorite Hansons. As for the seedlings, I happened to count bud scars on Buddy's Victoria Jade x Skin of My Teeth, and it turns out the best scape developed 16 buds and the one with the lowest buds went to 11. I'm really pleased that one bloomed for five weeks.
