Beams would not make any sense to use for your ceilings and this style of home. Your eye will already go up to the ceiling with all the angles and the addition of the ceiling fan. Focus on the furnishings below.

Would not add beams where all the angles are. The drywall actually looks better plain; however, if you're wanting to draw attention to the higher ceiling, you might consider painting the parts of the ceiling that are higher than the adjoining eight foot ceiling a pale sky blue.

Not only would beams not make any sense to your ceilings and style of home as @calidesign said, but how would beams have anything to do with your “modern industrial” preference? And if you like vintage, beams would not be the way to get that. You could buy some vintage pieces as decor for your home, though I wouldn’t go overboard given the style of the house.

Agree with other commenters, I wouldn’t do beams. But if you removed the window coverings from those upper windows the room would seem much bigger and lighter. I doubt you need them for privacy, and if it’s a public room, probably not light control either.

No beams they have no place to go on that already busy ceiling. The decor will set the style.
