Steve, you are very generous. The group of anti Meyers lemons Are split in two, one that are in extreme dislike of these lemons and the second is having trouble growing them.

The ones that like Meyers are the bigger groups, 100 to one. My Page tree‘s has serve me well for over 10 years . Meyers just 5. Whatever I grow they are all keepers. When you see a bunch of lemons on these little trees., is a accomplishment on my part, besides I don’t want to be told by anybody to discard anything,I,ll be the judge, can always regraft if you know just a little bit about grafting. That’s what forums teaches you.

Yeah, I've not been impressed with their flavor but I still keep 2 of them. A little bit of lemon is better than none - until my (purportedly) Eureka lemon grows up.

What’s the main purpose of growing strong flavorEd lemons? Lemonade? Sauté fish?

If I sautéed fresh fish, I use Meyers, just a little bit, if I buy frozen fish, I might use stronger

lemons to mask of fishy taste. I drink ginger ale year around.

i just finish cherries, next in a couple of weeks my favorite fruit, peaches. Jaboticabas, my tree produces 9 months out of the year, always something to eat in the yard. Meyers, full of stuff hanging. Tomatoes soon, half a dozen varieties of peppers, use a bit already and More.

I like lemons for fresh-squeezed lemonade. Meyers don't have the right flavor for that, in my opinion. Prefer a real lemon like Eureka or Lisbon.

I'm sure Meyers are good for other things though. I don't 'hate' them!

    Maybe Meyer lemon pie?

I like to squeeze half a lemon in a glass of water with ice......clears the throat - favorite use, plus seafood. lemon or orange meringue pie....

Bob, I really like what lemon brings to a dish, and use it fairly frequently in cooking. Meyer just tastes insipid to me.

Guys im in the I love Meyers camp they’re just so productive for me but the use for me is desserts things like lemon custard, lemon bars, ice cream, sorbet I don’t have to add as much sugar! Savoury dishes like bob said for fish too!

raee, when I sautéed fresh caught fish, I really don’t need lemon. Who started that!

Lemon really enhances certain oily/bloody fish liek mackeral/bluefish, freshens up salt water fish, claims, calamari in general. Its likely too strong for fresh water fish, which I don't eat much of.

Meyers have some bad growth and care habits. Blooming to death is one. Refusing to grow.

Bklyn, got two Santa Teresa and two Meyers, I am covered. I guess I am one of the lucky ones, after 5 years they are still doing great.

I had a fetish for making lemon meringue pie for a while (gotta leave those eggs out until they get to room temperature is one secret plus creme of tartar as backup). One day I was out of lemons and used and Orange and it was fantastic. Then I got bored of doing it, just wanted to teach myself to bake a little. I cook but don't bake
