You have a lovely place to begin with. Just my personal suggestions. Hang the art over the desk lower and side by side vs staggered as it is now. Center the bookshelf on the wall to the left of the window not catty cornered. Can you switch walls the tv is on? Or is the hook up on that wall? If you can switch move the tv to the wall the sofa is on and center it. You can float the sofa parallel to the other wall with a walk way behind it. If you can’t move the tv try moving your sofa out from the wall and maybe put a console behind it for lamps. Either option would reduce the space between seating and tv and feel cozy.

Is there a color you really like or several? Your room could use some additional color. Art, pillows, a throw, small chair or floor cushions or a rug would be ways to add it.

Hi from a fellow apartment dweller! Firstly, try not to have all your furniture right up against the walls. Couches and chairs, especially, look better when "floating" at least 6 inches away from the wall. In this room, I think I would try angling the couch in the corner where you have the bookcase, and putting the tv on the wall where you now have the couch, with some kind of swivel stand under it. I always hated having a tv facing windows because of the reflection. I would also pull the desk out of the corner and try turning it around at an angle, so the back of that chair is toward the corner. Then cozy it up with an area rug in front of the couch. Storage cubes that are upholstered can double as coffee tables (with a tray on top) or extra seating when needed.
