Pictures would be a HUGE help! The blooms, the canes, the whole plant, leaves, even thorns. It all will helps us to give you the right advise.

Where are you, as in State and gardening zone, would help too?

I planted a rose bush in the mid to late 90s and grew it well 7-8 years. It contracted crown gall, and weeds. I didn't do anything with it for the next 15-years. This year I dug up the old garden and planted "The Pilgrim" in a 2-gallon pot. The crown gall was gone. It is now blooming which it hasn't done in years,

You could consider doing what I did and planting the roses in a pot, putting them in a protected area in the sun, watered daily, and protected from wind, to get them going.

Once they are going then you could replant, or offer them to someone, which I am doing.
