Yey Amy it came!I didn't know they sold Avocados! ?? is it like only very early in the spring they have them? They are really a good size! I am looking to replace the one I lost along with a pink Guava.

Amy!!!! I’m so happy for you!!! The avocados are gorgeous!!! And your shasta is a much larger one than the one I got I’m so glad they did ok in the travel :) I’m sorry I haven’t posted a picture of my maybe valentine pomelo yet I’ve come down with a fever!!!! I’ve been in bed all week and self isolating but I haven’t been tested for covid19 yet because they say I don’t have the moderate to severe Symptoms like loss of sense of smell and shortness of breathe so it might just be a regular flu. About the valentine pomelo the more I think about it the more I think they gave me a eustis limequat I’ve been looking online at the leaves of the valentine pumelo and they don’t look lile the one I have! I really wish Gary would’ve told us all what happened to the valentines that were on the preorder Did he mention what happened? Amy I just got an email from Phoenix that they’re having a 20% off everything sale lol I almost dragged myself out of bed and crawled into the car!! thank you for posting amy I’m so happy to see them! It made my day :)

Jan! I really hope that you feel better. Now, don’t you dare doing something else than rest!! I can’t lose you!! The valentine pummelo can wait. Gary told me that four winds didn’t send any valentine pummelo this year but he will try to get some next year. Jan, what is the situation in Vancouver? Here, in Quebec, masks are mandatory since yesterday. I hope that it will help because new cases are getting higher.

Matt, did you lose your Bacon avocado? What happened? Last time you posted about it, it looked very healthy and was about to flower. Matt, Phoenix perrenials launched an avocado pre order in April or May and jumped on the opportunity to get a Reed avocado!

Jan, be careful, nothing worth more than your health, that comes first and I mean first.

You are more than a friend!

Little midget Amy, you be careful also!!

Bob amy that means so much! You guys mean the world to me :) don’t worry I have not left this bed lol my fever has come down a little to a low grade fever just creeping above normal so I think I’ll be right as rain in the next couple weeks! Hope the trees will be alright out there might need to get someone to water them soon as we’re finally hitting summer Weather! Bob how is the covid19 situation where you are? Please stay safe Bob!

amy covid19 has been slowly climbing here too we were doing pretty darned good for a while but I guess people have forgotten that we’re in the middle of a pandemic and a lot of people pack the beaches without masks or social distancing so everyone’s fearing a second wave! It’s a good thing we had another offer on our bakery and we probably will sell it this month and retire! :) amy im so glad that masks are mandatory where you are I wished they did that here I feel like everyone’s taking it so lightly! Even at our bakery people just pack right in without any social distancing I cringe at the thought! stay safe amy!!! And keep the pictures coming :)

We live in a remote area and only travel for groceries once every two weeks. Situation is not that bad here. Still have to be very careful.

On a lighter note, a couple of pictures.

Last year summer graft : avocado, have 3 altogether now.

Jan! How are you today? Do you feel better? Oh I am glad that you’re looking to start your retirement soon. That means that we will see you more on the forum which is awesome! Jan, I am afraid that you will need more trees to keep you busy so a second greenhouse it’s unavoidable! I was talking with my husband I told him that one day I will have to move somewhere that has more than 3 months of summer. I told him that maybe I will move next to my friend Jan so we can grow our trees together. Oh talking about citrus, how are you trees this summer? Are they growing much? I am asking because mine don’t grow that much because we have had heatwaves after heatwaves.

Here is a picture of my Gwen avocado. The rootstock seed is still attached to the tree which is kind of cute lol

Bob, I am careful! I promise! Actually, I don’t go out very often. Once a week, I go out for grocery and now masks are mandatory everywhere so maybe it may help. Bob, thank you for the pictures, wow your jaboticaba seems to be everbearing! I followed your advice and trimmed my jaboticaba. I will try to post a picture tomorrow!

Bob that’s great!! I’m thinking of retiring now to remote place myself :) oh I just love your trees bob especially your jabo! I’ve been wanting one for so long but with the Canada post delays I’m scared none of them will

make it if I ship them I think floraexotica near where amy lives sells them i might inquire now seeing as how amys trees made it there ok! :)

Hi amy!!! Amy that seed attached to the rootstock is too cute!! amy this fever has completely wiped me out I just don’t feel like doing anything but laying down here with my dog even though the fever went down I guess a couple more weeks of rest is in order :) amy lol I can’t believe I’m finally selling the business no more bakers hours for me! it’s been with us for over a decade such a weird mixed feeling But I’m so happy to spend more time here with you guys and the trees and family one thing I realize over the covid19 is how important it Is to enjoy everything we love everyday with the people we care about and not sweating the small stuff :) and how much easier that would be if you were my neighbour amy!!! think of all the hours spent talking about growing and sharing fruits and cuttings how fun I’ll just tell my neighbours to move elsewhere lol!! amy no no don’t enable me lol I’ve been trying not to think of a second greenhouse and my family is saying no way Anyways lol! What are the chances they won’t notice lol! amy did you know our covid numbers skyrocketed this last weekend because everyone in B.C. basically forgot that there’s a pandemic going around since our numbers have been fairly low!! Stay safe Amy!

Oh amy I seem to have missed a question! About growth our weather has been so strange we had a very early warm spring for a few weeks then it reverted back to fall weather very quickly and has been very very cold until the recent couple weeks so i believe my plants thought it was going through another winter and spring cycle So it’s flushing a second time Even my shasta had some new growth Last I checked! Amy I always thought the hotter the better is that not the case?

    my soil beginning to change

Hey Brian! thanks man. Hope all has been well with you and your beautifule trees and other plants.

Amy, ahh lucky! I did lose the Bacon it in Feb. I should not have moved it around lol.

Wow brian!!! Lol I’m so excited for you!! That tarroco bream looks beautiful! Looks like you’re set for blood oranges :) brian our summer Was very late even my tomatoes and peppers aren’t fruiting yet!hopefully I’ll get atleast a few tomatoes this year.

Amy the photo of the two trees I got from Phoenix The smaller Shasta is on the right it’s starting a new growth flush though! They look very similar!

Oops picture didn’t post above I don’t know why!

Jan your new trees are beautiful congratulations!!!!! You are going to love Shasta's very tasty , it was definitely the favorite around here last year . Just be careful with the many thorns it has mine has given me a good bite it seems every year . Jan I've been growing peppers , cucumbers and tomatoes inside the GH and they are all doing fantastic. Cherry tomatoes are ready now and the peppers are a good size . Cucumbers are also going crazy . The heat is shifting to the west now so your veggies should really pick up a few notches. The Tarocco #7 is supposed to be super sweet with some red but the rind stays orange . The Bream the rind and pulp turn an intense red possibly the most intense red of any blood orange but it needs a period of cool weather for the intense color. Shouldn't be a problem here right Jan lol .

    Brian

Oh no Brian lol I saw some bream taroccos at Phoenix still left now I have half a mind to go there tomorrow and get some right after work tomorrow lol you and Amy will be the death of me with all your enabling and now bob too with his exotic fruit trees! My cherry tomatoes have been green for weeks! crossing my fingers Maybe ill move them into the greenhouse too Brian! :) I wish I can grow cucumbers for some reason they just don't grow in my yard in pots!
