Wow, you have so many lovely lillies!

After hostas, I am interested in heuchera, but I don't have that many---yet! I am also learning how to propagate them.

I grow lots of heuchera from seed, super easy, mostly give always, people tend to like them a lot. Also my trick for older ones is to break woody part in about early March for me and stick it in different place. Gives you rejuvenated Ole one and a new seedling.

My friend fellow hosta lover introduced me to a lily seller... As if I need one more drug dealer lol. ...

They are beautiful. My second obsession is daylilies. No handy photos on my tablet, but they're at their peak and looking fabulous. There are some regular lilies sprinkled in for height and smell. The oriental ones are blooming, love the fragrance.

The only trouble with daylilies is finding ways to get rid of them. They have to be divided every so often, and I've given them to everyone who wants them already. No plant sales because of COVID-19, either. Humm, we do have a new neighbor...........

Fortunately, I live 6 miles from Dawes arboretum so I get to visit great trees like this Pinus densiflora Oculus Draconis (variegated Japanese Red Pine). It was my favorite tree there but it died this year and has been taken down.

Steve, I’m lucky, no deer here in suburbia. The rabbits destroy stuff now and then.....like hosta and lilies.

Color is off - it's more lavender. An unregistered seedling that's one of my favorites. Not as pretty as it's pod sibling, but it blooms like crazy for 5 or 6 weeks,

Day lilies and hydrangeas you can't kill them with a stick. Whenever youall need to dump some day lilies just let me know. I would happily pay postage.

After hostas, it's probably sedums. I love all kinds of sedums! They are so cute I can't resist them. Next will be iris. I love my iris. Steady, easy, beautiful and so many different ones to explore. Also easy to share and trade.

So many daylillies. Over 60 or a hundred. Well I'm obviously not that obsessed. Then I counted. Yeah, I'm over 60 too, but I need an Upgrade and all of those ones with Blue in the name and a Green Rainbow . . . and more property.

lindalana, thanks for the tip regarding heuchera. If someone wants to introduce me to a lily seller, I will tell them "no!" LOL No room for anymore addictions!

Madplanter, I was able to sell some of my hosta privately earlier this season. I thought people would not be interested in them because of the virus. In fact, it was just the opposite. People were very interested. I am guessing it was because there was more of a demand as many more people were now gardening. Also, I think that some people did not want to spend their time lining up at the garden centre or be around a lot of other people.

So I was typing up this response and went back to look at the photos again. Man are the daylilies beautiful. Unfortunately, lack of sun and space controls my urge to get some. I don't suppose there are mini daylilies?

Newhostalady--You are in luck!! There are smaller daylilys with different colors than the Stella de Oro's. And daylilys can take quite a bit of shade. I have a bed planted on the west side under the oak tree and they all bloom with the less amount of sun and root competition. I have hosta and companions on the east, north and south sides of the tree. I had a hard time with anything planted on the west side surviving until I tried the daylilys.

Newhostalady, there are as many dwarf daylilies as mini hostas. You might want to go for a landscaping daylily. They usually aren't listed that way, but they are generally smaller and plainer. They also have a lot more flowers. Stella D Oro is the gold one you see everywhere. Tough as nails, and reblooms if you don't let it set seed. Happy Returns is lemon yellow, Rosy Returns a rose color, and Purple D Oro, my favorite of the bunch, is two shades of red purple with a gold eye. Daylily buffs tend to sneer at them and prefer big flashy flowers. But if you want something that will work hard for it's place in the garden, they're terrific.

Everyone’s lilies are beautiful! It is surprising how many varieties of day lilies there are....... Jim, your fish are real beauties; Steve, love all your trees! I have large arborvitae trees and a large bush that are so overgrown.....I hate them..... I would love to have them removed and plant some JMs that would grow. 10-15 feet tall. Or other trees that are more interesting and/or lighter. BUT I have an underground oil tank (empty) under the front yard where one tree and the Bush are located. I believe I would have to remove it at the same. It’s from when the house was built. We never used it, put in gas. Anyway....this is a long story...... lol .......two years after we bought the house, state passed a law saying the tanks had to be removed upon sale of the house. Great. ===>>> we get stuck with that expense!! Sigh!

Wow, what beautiful pics everyone! I too love daylilies and lurk over on the daylily forum. Don't post there much because I don't have that many (comparatively speaking lol) and folks there seem to propagate and crossbreed daylilies as well. I'm not that advanced yet. I just like to look at the pictures and google to see if I can buy any lol. Speaking of which, sherrygirl (or anyone) if you can tell me where I can get Upgrade or Banshee Whispers I think I must have them!

Lindalana your lilies are spectacular. Am I right in assuming you do not have the dreaded red lily leaf beetle out there? I used to grow lilies when I sold flowers at the farmers market, and the last year I sold I got hit with them. They devastated most of my lilies, and the remaining ones in my garden are still being hit by them. Just cut some lilies this evening to bring in and had to remove all the leaves and have to live with holes in the blooms. Luckily they're just for me and not for sale!

Also, did I see Orania in one of your pictures? It looks like my Orania, my favorite lily.

P.S. I also love sedums, especially the groundcover, low-growing types. Adore the swirly little foliage on them!

P.P.S. I also once had a rose obsession, but killed more roses than I now own, and finally realized that roses just won't be happy on an acre lot with 50 +/- oak trees. So I have my two or three roses in the precious sun there is and content myself with them. Get my rose thrills over on the rose forum instead.

There are dwarf daylilies! I guess I'm not really supprised to learn that. That could be another new obsession of mine!

A few of my heuchera:

Brazen Raisin in the shade. It made me realize how tough heuchera can be. One early spring I found it completely out of the soil. What could I do? I just put it back in the ground as best I could, and it survived.

This little heuchera is one of my favorites. It just glows in the spring. Unfortunately for this picture the crazy winds we have been having have turned some of the leaves. I love it anyways. It's called Frost, a mini heuchera.

Love your heucheras! I have quite a few myself. I bought two more this year despite having really no space for them. :-)

I would have loved to buy more heucheras this year. The garden centre near me had line ups right onto the street from first thing in the morning. I didn't want to have to wait so long for a parking spot or to get in. When I finally did go, what I wanted wasn't there. All in all it is a difficult year. I decided I just had to be happy with what I had. What did you get this year popmama? I think you have more choices in the States than we do. It's really difficult to find the minis here. I lost two of the ones I had and have only two different minis now.

My only Asiatic lily, Polar Star. It's been growing in my yard for about 5 years and this is the first year that it increased with two stems now. It's huge, like 5' tall.
