Thank you, Lily. I had robins nesting on my front porch trellis for a few years by now. This year there were 3 cute babies. I know we share the love for clematis as well, it's Zara in the front yard photo and Elsa Spath in the back border. A few others are currently blooming, filling for the roses that are done with their June/early July flush.

It is stunning! It looks so peaceful and a pleasant place to be!

Thank you very much, rosecanadian. When we bought this house 7-8 years ago, it came with a sizable backyard area that previous owners used as the playground for their children. We converted it into the garden and it's still an ongoing process. There were many lessons to learn with drawbacks and some losses, but these roses and other plants have been generously rewarding us with their growth, lovely blooms and scent.

Beautiful garden! Looks so peaceful. I love to see what others somewhat close to my neck of the woods are growing.

Vesfl, you are right, your yard is dreamy! I love the beautiful pops of color and the birdbath with a bird, just like something out of a Disney movie.

Beautiful roses and companion plants. Nice porch, as well! Your Munstead Wood look awesome. (Mine had a good June flush, better than last year.)

Your birdbath is delightful, robins are fun to watch in the garden. When I see the robins arrive in March, another sign that spring is on the way.

With the warm temps we've been having, the shade garden is especially welcome this time of year.

Kristine, the only rose currently blooming is 'Bolero' and I still remember your pics. I'm so glad I bought it afterwards. That rose defines a dreamy look and is in constant bloom.

Krista, your roses are always an inspiration. The array of your pink roses is amazing, but I would love to see your Munstead Wood too. Hope all is well and that all your roses are happy. Robins nested on the trellis on my porch for the third year now. This time there were 3 babies! I spotted a goldfinch couple and red cardinals, bluejays, downy woodpeckers and sparrows are regular visitors to my garden. I do have a special fondness for robins.

Sheila, many thanks. I wish I could have your gorgeous tea beds but bourbons and HPs are the only OGR reblooming choices for my zone and I am falling in love with some new ones (DAs, Kordes) as well.

Thank you for sharing your garden. So lovely! You are growing many of the roses I love and its great to see how they look in someone else's garden.

One thing though. Wherever in my garden I have comparable space I am putting in at least 10X as many roses. Not necessarily a well deliberated design plan. Just bought and continuing to buy big numbers of roses.

Vesfl - How wonderful to have so many different varieties of birds!

Just lovely! Many favorites there, beautifully grown and displayed.

Those of you who have bird baths and a drip system, you might try adding a dripper hose etc such that it drips into the bird bath. When the system turns on the bird bath will get a shot of water. May not keep it completely full but some of the birds will appreciate it. May even save you a trip or too.... lol

Attach the drip hose to a Shepherds Hook, then hang a plant on the hook, place next to the bird bath such that the drips fall into the bath pan. Unless people looked close they wouldn’t even see the dripper.

Also, to get the hose to the bird bath just run it across the lawn, pinning it down every 18 inches or so with wire pins. The big box stores sell copper pins. In a few weeks the grass will cover the hose and you won’t know where it’s at…. so run it in a straight line from the connection source. Have fun… lol

Thank you for sharing your garden. It looks so cool while I'm sure it's just as hot there, but the appearance is cool and refreshing. I also think every garden ought to have Ispahan, if only for the fragrance. I love your clematis meandering through the roses. The robin looks almost as if he's posing for you.

Oh, thank you all so much! The silver lining in these quarantine times is that we can spend more time in our gardens and also enjoy the backyard habitat. And share it all with others on this wonderful forum.

rosecanadian, the birds never cease to amaze me. Just the other day I saw a small female goldfinch on the petals of my clematis while the male was watching over her from the nearby lilac. Every day something!

toolbelt, that's a great idea and we'll definitely follow your instructions. I also have a birdbath in the front bed and what you describe would work perfectly there. My birds thank you too! :-)

And you are right about that robin. Not only was he posing for me but he was enjoying a full spa treatment while I was standing all that time cornered, not wanting to move to disturb him. And he apparently loved it!

Vesfl, I'm so pleased Erinnerung is doing well for you. It's a pretty bloom. There are some really beautiful Geschwind roses.

vesfl - a goldfinch! What a lovely splash of color! Our birds here are all brown...except for the beautiful black and white magpies...which most people here hate. :)
