master bath remodel.

last modified: 6 years ago

We gutted our master bath 3 years ago due to a long time leak had rotted the subfloor over time. We didn’t know it until I nearly went through floor when walking out. We’ve had to put project on hold twice bc child going to grad school, then announced engaged getting married. Now, we are trying to move along. We have decided on Carrara White with grey and black veins in high gloss, 12x24” for floor and walls. Which is option 1. Or should we go with square tiles on floor outside shower option 2, then use the 12x24” on shower walls. I’m doing an accent strip around top about 1’ from top. Accent will be 6” with pencil tile running on top and bottom of the 6” accent tile. I’ll try to add pictures of pencil tile and accent tile. The room has 9’ ceilings and shower is 5’ wide x 10’9” long. Curbless with middle entry to wet area. One end has 4 jets with rain head, niche on right side for shampoos. Shower is on exterior wall so thinking I need to wrap pipes abs insulated that area well. It has a36” linear drain about a ft from wall. In other end is a bench with wall unit body jets and hand held sprayer and rain head unit with a6” square drain. All done in brushed nickel. I’ve got to add niche in left end. Figure if I want to use solid slab for bench seat top? The floor tiles are same as floor tiles outside shower except a 2’x8’ down center is a non slip Carrara’s tiles to match the floor and wall tiles. Should I outline these nonskid tiles to make it pop or leave? The Vaniety is 35” high x79” long black with brush nickel hardware. Mirror is a lighted mirror I purchased through luxnor in Houzz. I planned to use square basin’s that sit on top of Vaniety top. I’m mounting outlet inside Vaniety cabinet in side of shelf with USB ports as well as double outlet. One on each side of Vaniety for him and one for myself. I’m unsure what tile to use on knee wall exposed to bathroom not shower and how to cap off top? Also what tile to use in water closet wall? Floor?
