means?

If your bathroom is built, queeni1951, I recommend you try taping out sizes of mirrors you like to see the effect the size has on the wall. Is there any lighting on the wall to take into account? Sconces? I'm not a pro but I'm not sure there are that many "shoulds" when it comes to mirror sizes in a bathroom: it's a matter of proportions and what you need and want. For example, if the wall is 60" wide and you place 2 mirrors the width of your 17" sinks above them, the wall might look pretty empty. As for the height of these mirrors, I consider functionality as I'm the one who cleans the bathroom. A mirror that goes to the ceiling would have me cursing. This is the type of dilemma where elevation drawings are particularly helpful. If you can't tape out dimensions on the wall, consider drawing this wall and mirror size options on graph paper to get a better idea. Thank you so very much, tartanmeup! I appreciate you taking the time to respond with information. We need to choose our vanity lighting soon and thus need to know where the mirror, yet to be determined will go. It will be an overhead fixture as there is no room on one side of the mirror.

Overhead light casts shadows on the face so do keep this in mind if the vanity will be used for makeup application, for example. The most flattering light is "face on". Why couldn't you place wall sconces at both end of the vanity and one between your two mirrors? Have you an idea of the type of mirrors you want? Would one mirror rather than two make sense? Really depends on the style of your bathroom. Get an idea of the standard mirror sizes out there because the lighting placement will narrow your mirror options. (Custom mirrors might be an option as well.) If you share pics of your bathroom, I'm sure pros will chime in with advice.

Yes, I wanted sconces on either side of the individual mirrors and one in the middle between them BUT the vanity countertop is 4” on either side of the sink, 17” sinks, then 18 between the sinks in the middle. My plan won’t work. Even to have sconces on eother side of mirror, there is not enough space On the outside areas.

i do not like lights over the top of a mirror, but unfortunately, I do not see a way around it.
