Insects gathering downstate NY

These tiny insects swarm and die on my window screens every summer. What are they and what can i do to prevent this? Any way to discourage them? Our deck lights are off at night. It only affects the window in my kitchen though there are other windows along that wall. Is it the light inside the house??. Typically the kitchen light is on. Any help would be appreciated.

    I'm guessing that they are male mosquitoes. The males swarm together but can't bite. I see what appears to be a mosquito body and the identifiable fuzzy antennae of the male in the blurry images.
