Make smaller cuttings out of this?

Hi,

my neighbor knocked a branch off of a plumeria tree with his car.


its a very healthy large tree.


Now I’m wondering, if I should put the branch into the soil as is, or make smaller cuttings out of it?


and should I take off all the leaves? What’s my best bet?
