I dont know anything about Eva potatoes, but I do expect a potato shortage, not that we wont have any, but can we afford them. I dont think we will climb out of this mess quickly.

I'm not worried. Potatoes will be there since they generally are raised here in the USA. If nothing else, we can hang on to grocery store potatoes purchased in late autumn or early winter and plant them. They'll sprout for us while in storage, giving us a head start on chitting our seed potatoes prior to planting. There's also True Potato Seed available from some online retailers. Other than stuff like potatoes and onions, I have purchased all my seeds for next year already, and I probably have enough for 2022 as well. Since a lot of the wholesale seed producers are in Asia, I wasn't taking any chances on waiting to see what the retailers would have in stock in 2021, so I bought my 2021 seeds in February or March of 2020 in case the supply chain disruptions are ongoing over the next few months. Now that China is experiencing heavy rainfall and severe flooding, I'm glad that I did that and think it probably is a great idea to get whatever seeds you need now and leave nothing to chance. Most of the seed potato producers in the USA harvest their seed potatoes in the fall, and I haven't heard anything about any of them having crop failures.
