Your leaves will not snap your trunk. are the leaves hanging because the tree needs water?

I water the tree every other day. I check the soil everyday to see if it needs water which only seems to be every other day. I know young mango trees leaves do hang but these leaves seem to be larger than what i’ve seen online for a tree this age.

Nothing to worry about. Mangoes do that. New leaves hang down till they mature and green up. Also new leaves color is also right. It is anthocyanin pigment that protects the young leaves from the Sunlight. Keep it well watered. It is using the food reserve from the seed but you can start fertilizing at quarter strength. Once the leaves green up it will straighten up a bit and start making its own food and the trunk will start thickening up too.

I dug up the soil until i saw the top of the roots. I was extremely careful and didn’t damage anything. I did put dynamite 18-6-8 florida formula into the soil upon planting as i saw a lot of people doing that to their seeds. I’m not sure what the roots should look like at a week old but here are some pictures. I didn’t want to dig too far for fear of damaging something. So i’m not sure if these are stunted or not for it’s age.

Looks like you have gritty like mix. So keep it well watered while the seedling establishes itself. If it is indeed gritty like mix I would not hesitate to water it daily. The main tap root is visible in the photo and looks fine. Those fibrous stuff are not roots - they are from the seed coat which is separating. All in all it looks good - nothing to worry about.
