I'm planning a bathroom remodel, and considering installing a pocket door. I've got plenty of room for a hinged door, but like the idea of leaving the wall space (for wall in bathroom and on the bedroom side) - that would be taken up by an open door - free for art and/or storage.

I tend to leave doors open (I live alone and like the circulation of light and air) so the door would rarely be closed, anyway. The other bathroom has had a pocket door since I moved in over 20 years ago, and there's another pocket door at the top of the pictured steps, separating off the third floor bedroom and bathroom from the staircase down (that door is almost never closed.)

Other than space-saving, are there other advantages/disadvantages to a pocket door?
