Sometimes, humidity can affect results.

I think it looks great as is, but understand if it’s not the look you’re wanting.

What I’ve done in this situation is sand it down where the crackle/alligatoring occurred, and re-waxed that section. I’ve done a lot of pieces (used to sell them) and never had to use three coats. I’m wondering if your paint wasn’t dry enough in between coats, which can definitely cause this. Not sure — there are a few reasons this could happen.

Thanks! maybe I’ll sand spots and maybe add a dark wax... I probably didn’t wait long enough. It’s in my garage in MI and it’s been very humid. Lesson learned!!

you have to wait a good 24 hours before applying the wax, if not it won't be dry enough
