Cutting off diseased leaves

I often get leaf spot on my tomatoes. I've learned to not plant tomato plants close together and to cut off lower branches early, to let in as much air as possible. I also only water from underneath the plant. At first, I cut off all the diseased leaves/stems. But now, it's progressed so much that I'd be cutting off most of the branches. So I might as well just leave them on, right? .......and hope the tomatoes ripen before the whole plant dies.

Thanks.
