Induction Range recommendations for 2020

last modified: 6 years ago

The lack of reviews on the internet for induction ranges is remarkable. I'm sure I can find help here! I'm replacing my 15-year-old 30" Kitchenaid gas range with an induction one. I bake so a dependable convection oven is a must, and if the burners have a bridging option, that would be a bonus. Miele is gorgeous but at $7K, just a pipe dream. Any other recommendations?

We purchased the Kitchenaid induction for a kitchen upgrade a few years ago and liked it so much we bought another for our new build. The oven racks glide smoothly and the range top has a bridge. There’s also a warming drawer. The stove even cane with a really nice set of induction cookware.

We haven't yet remodeled our kitchen and purchased the range, but we spent quite a bit of time right before COVID hit researching and appliance shopping. From the reviews and what we saw, GE is the best bet at a reasonable price.

I'm very happy with my LG slide in induction range, about US$ 2K, but it doesn't have a bridging feature. I've had it about 3 years now.

Consumer Reports (https://www.consumerreports.org/join - $10/month digital) has reviews of seven induction ranges.

There are hundreds of owners' reviews on the Home Depot, Best Buy, and Lowes websites.

The Bosch HII8056U induction has a very poor control design -- one virtual slider for all four burners -- has a small oven, and is over-priced.

What is your budget? Have you considered the KitchenAid induction range?

I'd like to stay under $3K for sure. I've looked at the KA and Jenn-Air, which apparently are the same. I love that look specifically, but a lot of reviews comment on the length of time the oven takes to reach temp. (20+ min!).

I have Bosch and it has worked fine for 6 years now. I previously had a gas cooktop. I remember I was a bit limited as I needed a very shallow one as I have a drawer right under the cooktop that stores my seasonings. I think it came down between thermador and Bosch, if I remember correctly. So funny, when you are going through the renovation, you know every model down to the T. Now I can barely remember some of the stuff.

Sorry just realized you are looking for a range and not just a cooktop. My experience is the cooktop.

no problem. all information is good information, and boy do I hear you about renovations. When we started our kitchen reno back in 2014, I researched the heck out of it. thank goodness for the Gardenweb forums!

So far I love my new Bosch 800 series induction convection range. No issues with controls or oven size. Very sensitive controls work like a dream. Highly recommend.

The LG induction ranges are on sale right now at Costco for very reasonable prices.
