Usually the spaces provided and their arrangement in a house are based upon the required functional needs of owner and not given up to a democratic process.

Thanks for the comment. This is not spam . I posted this as I thought to get expert view for choosing the house model of 2 different builders . Price is same but I am confused with the plan which one to choose .

Apparently your lot is very narrow. I would not be able to fit both my vehicles in those garages (we have a minivan and a Jeep Grand Cherokee, so not huge vehicles). I would consider those to be a "one car plus storage" space. But if I was to have a one-car garage, I would use the rest of the space to improve the function of the living space, rather than expensive storage.

How many people will be living in this house? You have an awful lot of bathrooms, in both plans. In plan 1, you could eliminate the jack and jill, since you have a hall bath.

Both plans have walk-in closets, just for the sake of being able to advertise walk-in closets. In most of these rooms, a reach-in closet would make more sense.

Plan 1 has 3 eating spaces adjacent to each other. Do you need all three? If not, that space could be better used.

Give us a clue as to how many people regularly live with you.

We will be staying 5 members. Me , my husband, one kid and parents

Thanks AnnKH for your comment. Yes both the lots are narrow 36 feet . But based on current market price we are able to afford for maximum this size lot. For plan 1 builder is agreed to remove the jack and Jill and extend the railing to replace the wall . 3 eating space means are you referring to the island ? So you will suggest me to go for plan 1 or plan 2 ? Which is better?

Neither if your parents are living with you. What happens when your parents can no longer climb the stairs? Honestly both are pretty bad.
