I have no clue whay you would spend money on a brick veneer and then paint it. Get your architect to give you some drawings of the choices so you get an actual visual of them. IMO keep it simple and you for sure will need a portico over the door if you want this to even begin to be colonial and for me that would be the only thing I would do to the facade. I think you could think modern farmhouse instaed of colonial it might help you decide.

I would not spend the $2k on brick and paint it. Save the money for your landscaping and, perhaps, some hardscape. Vertical board and batten would look great combined with the 8” horizontal siding.

Thanks, Patricia house color is colonial white. Not going for a colonial style. We will be doing an overhang over the front door. These comments do help, I'll pick a vertical board and batten. I originally thought brick to break up some of the vinyl, but the board and batten will give the same desired effect.
