Now a bunch of Bombay Silk x Red Friday, yeah I used Red Friday a lot, and only a fraction got planted..

41 - BSxRF 1

43 - BSxRF 3 - new this year or I don't remember, I transplanted several of them to consolidate them all together in one place, it's tall, sometimes darker

44 - BSxRF 4, this one is short but looked pretty to me, also don't remember so will consider it first time blooming

45 - another Tahlequah Flame kid, it's tall, light peach, I like its form and delicate coloring

46 - from when I was crossing NOIDs to find ploidy, I only kept this one and am trying to make it red )) It sets pods like crazy, but haven't planted anything yet

47 - my favorite seedling, (Chance Encounter x Red Friday #1) x HOH. Hard to capture true colors, camera makes it more purple, the CERF1 was a dark purple, pretty but short, I don't have it anymore. Not the best bud count though now that it has more than one scape, only 12 buds, which btw is decent for my yard )) but of course I want it to be higher

48 - sibling to above, taller, bigger flower, 2 scapes, 2 instant reblooms, same as last year when it first bloomed, same bud count as above

49 - and my very first pink seedling, which my husband wants to register. Smaller bloom but IR on almost every scape this year

My favorite of all the ones in the first batch is #31. I love, love , love the color, watermark and gently ruffled edge. My second favorite is #26. I like the colors and, of course, that white edge. My third favorite is #40. I would be crossing that with UFs. I would also cross a couple of those other BSAT babies with UFs.

On the second batch, your favorite, #47 is my favorite. It has a wow look, and if 12 buds is good in your garden, definitely hang on to it. Of the Bombay Silk kids, the second one is my pick, and I would cross it with a UF. The last one, your "pink" baby looks pretty red on my screen. In any case it has a pleasing shape and nice watermark. You have to keep a pretty one that has instant rebloom on every scape. And the first seedling is always a special one.

A really nice batch of seedlings but #37 and #47 are my favorites here. I love that edge on #37. #47 has so much going for it! It would also be difficult to discard the ones you weren’t sure about. Debras choices are right on! Wish I had room to try this.

I agree that you have produced some very pretty seedlings. They should make you happy! (Except for that culling part!!)

Of these I like 27, 32, 37, 47. However, I don’t know how you are going to be able to part with some of these!

After seeding others liked #37 so much, I had to say it would be my next favorite. It has a great edge and the color is beautiful. You could cross it with taller edged daylilies.

Thanks Debra, I didn't even notice #31 has a watermark, I just kept it because it's different from siblings. #26 was a surprise I had no idea what I'd get. #47 is my fanciest I might give it a name just because of it )) I had the same idea of crossing Bombay Silk seedlings with UFs, the problem is.. I don't have UFs because I used to be so into bagels. I have Yellow Titan which is a yellow self and Ruby Spider, well Wild Horses and maybe Intelligent Design but those both have eyes. I wonder if Two Sues would be considered UF-ish, anyway I did cross some of the Bombay Silk seedlings with Yellow Titan, it will probably be a muddy color but maybe bigger size. The last one looks just like it is on my screen, dark pink but if I tilt the screen towards me it indeed looks redder. #37 was another surprise, if it keeps opening with that ruffly edge here then great. When I got Heartbeat of Heaven I crossed it with everything that bloomed and didn't realize that Decadence looked very similar, except Decadence keeps deteriorating every year because it's a southern plant, so maybe one day the seedling will replace it ))

Sherry, thanks for liking my favorite seedling! Yeah with no room it's better not to start )) I only have one small seedling bed and a little patch (both of which were former hosta beds haha) and they are so full now, and not being very strong when it comes to culling, they will remain full. I won't be able to do any crosses next year.

I think crossing some of the seedlings with Yellow Titan might give you some good UF results. Yellow usually works with any other color to cross and doesn't usually produce muddy results. I have crossed Two Sues with UFs because I think it could produce UF kids.

Nat, 47 is my favorite: color, form, eye and edge. 29 is next, same reasons. 27 and 41 are also very nice. I really like the eye on 37. Many of the others are quite nice too.
