color compatibility ?

I saw the BM Stonington Gray for the island paint. I was really surprised by the lightness of the color. I missed the paint color for the wall overall AND the cabinet color. I think I see strong yellow undertones on the cabinet but I’m not understanding how it is working so well with the wall gray. Can you help me understand how to do this pairing with confidence? Is it the time of year, the volume of light coming through those large windows? Thank you for your help and guidance.

It is impossible to rely on photos to select paint colours because photos are showing a room through the lense of a camera that is capturing the light coming in through the windows which is affected by the room's exposure as well as the time of day and the season. And then there is any photo editing that happens to the photo once it has been taken. The colour of the island is Benjamin Moore's Stonington Gray HC-170 (which appears lighter in the photo than in real life), the cabinets are a lacquer version of Benjamin Moore's Cloud White OC-130, the trims, doors and ceilings in this space are also Cloud White and the walls are Benjamin Moore's Horizon OC-53. These all work together seamlessly in this space, however we cannot guarantee that they will work together in your space. Colour is relative to its surroundings and affected by the lighting, both natural and artificial as well as exposure. We recommend an in-home consultation with a design professional or colour expert in order to make the right selections for your space.
