How do I update/decorate my foyer?

I have to work around this large antique bench, which will have a pretty seat cushion and pillows. I am stumped about what else to use with it to add appeal to my entryway. Any suggestions will be appreciated. My home is mostly traditional, but eclectic.

I’d move it to the right, skip a seat cushion and find three unique tapestry cushions for the back and a large hemp rug

I would move your bench over closer to the light switch so that it is not covering part of your stairs. Then i would put a pretty plant on the stair side of your bench. A rug is needed so maybe a longer one like you have in front of the door, so that it comes in front of your bench, Love your bench.

A small dining room is opposite the bench. It has very traditional furniture.

I would look for a larger and more vibrant rug. Obviously, the style and colors would have to work with your dining room decor.
