Blooming on a beautiful Tuesday

The weather was wonderful today. After all the extreme heat, it was nice to have some moderate temperatures.

Here are a few daylilies still blooming here.

Woodchopper's Ball is a small flower on really tall scapes.

I ignore Lavender Tall Stacks because it's not my favorite color. It is a good grower.

I don't know if Mystic Maize's sepals always twist like that. It's another one I tend to ignore.

Bold Tiger was blooming nicely today. It's another one that is not my favorite--too small and recurved--but Bob said we had to keep it.

Just a couple of seedlings to post. This is Lady Stephanie Victoria Redding X (Forestlake Laura Lee Harding X Bass Gibson).

This is the last flower on Empire of Dawn and Dusk X Ruby Lipstick. We hope this one will be an intro next year.

My favorite is the Lady Stephanie Victoria Redding X (Forestlake Laura Lee Harding X Bass Gibson). What a mouthful! A lovely bloom though.

I love that last seedling! I think it's the one I've admired for a couple of years. What will it take for it to be an intro in 2021?

Debra, the last seedling is the one I've posted many times. We are hoping that it will be an intro next year. If we do introduce it, it will be very limited. We have one clump (6 fans this spring) in the front garden and two smaller clumps in the sales bed. One clump has 5 fans and one just three. It hasn't multiplied as well as we had hoped, but I pointed out to Bob the other day that we put pods on it and divided it and moved it around. I haven't counted how many fans are in the clump in the front garden yet. I hope it's more than 6.

On the positive note, bud counts and branching are higher this year. The 6 fan clump produced a scape out of every fan and then rebloom scapes. It's been in bloom since at least June 21.

We have a name picked out and will be dividing it soon. I hope to have about 5 double fans to sell. Some people sell new intros as single fans, but I would prefer not to do that.

It looks very pretty in a clump, and it looks well-budded. That;'s nice to know it reblooms!

Ruby Lipstick is also a slow multiplier, so it may have inherited that trait.
