PS - you may want to control the weeds or the plants growing close to the hydrangea. The hydrangea roots are in the top 4" so it is not a good idea to let all those roots comingle and compete for water and nutrients.

I've been getting out the weeds, that's daylily foliage. I'm going to transplant them.
