Dieffenbachia seguine white fluffy deposits

I'm a complete house plant novice and have what I believe to be a Dieffenbachia seguine, it seems to be about to produce a flower. But I've just noticed a white pollen like substance over the flower shoot and some of the leaves. I've looked at mealy bug images online but they seem to be more defined. Can anyone offer advice please? Thank you
